Wacław Gudowski
Ph.D., Professor of Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), senior advisor of Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE)
Waclaw is author of over 100 scientific papers in nuclear technology, nuclear data and solid state physics.
He was director of the Nuclear Energy Technology Centre (CEKERT). Coordinated European project "Impact of Transmutation and Reduction of Waste on Geological Waste Repository — RED-IMPACT". Was involved in research in accelerator driven transmutation of nuclear waste, in "Accelerator Driven Systems — ADS". Is active member in activities of the International Science and Technology Center promoting culture of nonproliferation and responsible science.
Nicolas Devictor
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Adviser at Embassies of France in the UK, Finland and Baltic countries.
Nicolas has studied risk management, development of safety assessment methodologies, probabilistic safety, human factor and impact of uncertainties in experimental processes and behaviour of mechanical structures. Nicolas was Head of the Reactor Studies Department in CEA Energy Division's IRESNE Institute to operate experimental reactors (CABRI) and to preppare Jules Horowitz Reactor. He was deputy head of the ASTRID programme and its implementation, including the strategy for managing the knowledge generated by CEA and its partners. He was in charge of a laboratory in charge of pre-design studies for sodium-cooled fast reactors and associated safety studies, and was in charge of "Safety and Reliability of Installations" project and represented CEA on various international bodies (OECD/NEA, IAEA, etc.).
Zemfira Knott
Director at Northcourt
Zemfira is a business executive with over two decades of management experience including nuclear insurance industry. She is one of the founding members of Northcourt, a leading nuclear risk specialist that provides innovative insurance solutions for the nuclear sector worldwide and is well established within the international nuclear insurance community. As part of her role, she is directly involved in dealing with the UK Government, Members of UK Parliament and other governments and nuclear regulators around the world.
With global decarbonisation targets, Zemfira feels even more determined to promote insurance solutions to enable investment into new nuclear technologies.
Zemfira is a member of the International Nuclear Law Association and Women in Nuclear IAEA.
Simon Stuttaford
Master in Energy and Environmental Law, Principal of Castletown Law.
Simon has been involved in the nuclear sector for over 12 years since focusing his practice on energy and environmental law. He has assisted the Estonian government to develop its nuclear legislation. He has co-authored three Guides on the regulatory challenges for advanced nuclear technologies, proposing a new approach for alignment, streamlining and an "adopt and use" methodology under IAEA oversight. Simon has also lectured at UK Universities in Environmental law and has developed and delivered an online Master's programme in the law of nuclear energy for a UK University.
Reelika Runnel
Master in Environmental Sciences, Area Manager of Nuclear Energy and Radiation Protection in Estonian Ministry of Climate, Coordinator of Estonian Nuclear Energy Working Group.
Reelika has worked as a radiation protection officer and has been responsible for developing legislation and policy planning documents on nuclear safety and radiation protection. She was participating in EU and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Working Groups related to nuclear safety, and on nuclear affairs at the Estonian Embassy in Vienna, Austria, cooperating with IAEA and CTBTO regarding to nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation. Now Reelika is coordinator of the Estonian Nuclear Energy Working Group, established by the Estonian Government.
Kalev Kallemets
Ph.D. in energy economics, co-founder and CEO of Fermi Energia.
He has been working in private and public sector in Estonian private energy company, Ministry of Economic Affairs as deputy director of Geological Survey of Estonia and as Member of Parliament of Estonia. Is author of several publications regarding to energy production and economy.
Andris Šternbergs
Dr. habil. Phys., Vice President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences
He is a laureate of the LAS Grand Medal, he has been the director of the Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia for almost 15 years, currently the deputy director in the field of science. Author of more than 250 scientific publications He has studied radiation defects in various materials at the Salaspils nuclear research reactor. He is the Scientific Director of the Latvian organization of the European Consortium for the Development of Fusion Energy EUROfusion, as well as the Latvian representative on the Board of Fusion for Energy (F4E) in Barcelona.
Antans Sauhats
Antans Sauhats, Dr. Habil.sc. Eng. Professor at Institute of Power Engineering, Riga Technical University.
Antans is professional in the field of power engineering, with a rich background in research, project management, and academic leadership. Author of 300 scientific publications. Recognized for expertise in power systems stability, emergency automation, and economics. Has proven track record of successfully leading and contributing to numerous projects funded by prestigious entities such as the European Commission and national energy industry.
Kārlis Baltputnis
Kārlis Baltputnis, PhD, Senior researcher at Institute of Power Engineering of Riga Technical University.
Kārlis is focused on power system modelling and optimization, flexibility for renewable energy integration as well as development of new types of ancillary services markets. He has participated in a number of projects funded by the European Commission and national energy industry stakeholders, his current research focus is mostly on electricity market modelling.
Oļegs Linkevičs
Dr. Eng., Professor at Riga Technical University
Olegs conducted research in power plant and microgrid operation modeling and development of modeling algorithms. He is author of 55 scientific publications. He participated in Visagina NPP project working group and in trainings of different nuclear reactor technology developers. He provides training for students in the basics of energy, electricity generation and transmission, power stations and substations. Olegs is member of VGB Power Tech e.V. technical council and working group of the EURELECTRIC Association.
Andris Kulbergs
B. in International Business. Member of the Parliament of Latvia. Was Chairman of Environmental, Climate and Energy Subcommittee of the Economic, Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Policy Committee of the Parliament. Before being elected in 2022, Andris was the chairman of the board of SIA "VK Development" and the association "Automotive Association", as well as a member of the Council of Employers' Confederation of Latvia.
Kaspars Melnis
Minister of Climate and Energy of the Republic of Latvia, Member of the 14th Saeima.
Bachelor of Transport Construction, Master of Management. Kaspars is the manager of several companies and a member of Agricultural organizations. He was a council member in Rēzekne County Council.
Līga Kurevska
Ph.D. in Energy and Economics, State Secretary of the Ministry of Climate and Energy.
Līga has been the deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Economy for energy issues and the director of the Energy Department of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, researcher at the Energy Institute of Riga Technical University and the head of the Data Analysis Group of Augstsprieguma tīkls (High Voltage Network).
Agris Auce
PhD in Nuclear Physics, Fission project manager in the University of Latvia
Agris has been one of the key owners and developers of the most successful pharmaceutical startup in Latvia – SIA Silvanols. He is owner and founder of the oldest insurance broker and risk consulting company in Latvia – SIA A TurboC 4U. Agris is also member of the Consultative Financial Market Council of the Bank of Latvia.
